On Friday, 31 October 2025, Sound Bridge gathered at Konstepidemin, Hus 8, in Gothenburg for the seventh edition of our ongoing series of live connections and events.

Under the title Echo & Exchange, we brought together artists, musicians, and cultural producers from Sweden, the United States, and Japan. The programme was packed with live performances, talks, and artistic collaboration. The evening was perhaps the greatest new step for the Sound Bridge collective to date. It was the first time we had connected such a broad constellation of collaborators in one physical space, while still incorporating live‑streamed connections to Japan and the US.

The event elevated the previous live‑stream connections into a shared space for listening and exchange, in front of a large international audience. Echo and Exchange was free and open to all, with wheelchair access, in a subculturally rooted but family‑friendly environment. We also served food – freshly made ramen and onigiri from Japan – alongside a broad programme of artists and creatives. The programme featured an eclectic mix of performances and presentations:

  • Arash Jooyafar: Gothenburg-based Iranian sound artist working with percussive and experimental electronic music.

  • av aton: Gothenburg-based, Icelandic and Swedish electro‑acoustic duo combining classical music with electronic soundscapes.

  • Commissioned tracks through the remix project Alley Loop: featuring contributions by Audio Wave Works / High Frequency Music Group – a Detroit‑based collective and community platform for hip hop instrumentalists, founded by Zhaoski (Rafael Pouncy), as well as Swedish music producer and artist Dimitrios Karatzios, a.k.a. K‑Sport. Rafael joined via live stream from Detroit.

  • Oscar Karl Wirdelius: a beat producer and  electronic musician with background in industrial design, researching experimental house music live.

  • Hiroba: Presentation of the public space research project by Samuel Michaëlsson and Yosuke Tsuga.

  • Eric Magassa: visual artist working with collage, painting, photography, and video – performing an improvised video work merging sound and visuals together with All Faux Everythings (Wesley Taylor & Michael Demps), adding abstract beats and live visuals.

  • Freddy Wallin (Avvikandebeteende): visual artist and animator, sharing the process behind his music video work.

  • Garamga (Catbeats & Daniel Kz): an electronic improvisation duo, rooted in abstract electro dance music.

  • Kreativ Data + Friends: a study group for electronic music experimentation performing an improvised live session.

  • Hanna Eliasson (Lupo Manaro): an illustrator, graphic designer, dj and musician, showing two decades of visual collaborations in poster formats.
