Sound Bridge is an ongoing project that connects people worldwide across time zones through live-streamed performances, dialogue, and sonic and cultural exchange. It began in late 2023, linking Gothenburg, Sweden, and Shibetsu, Japan, where DJs, performers, and creatives participated in several live-streamed sessions.
The aim of Sound Bridge is to foster creative and social exchange through improvised, back-to-back live music performances, accompanied by communication, interaction, and dialogue. Shared interests such as music, design, and art form the foundation for long-distance collaboration and sustainable relationships, bridging geographical divides.
Technologically, Sound Bridge uses a shared live-streaming platform, along with sound systems, cameras, and microphones, to create a temporary yet interactive communication channel, enabling cultural exchange between distant locations.
Sound Bridge is run and operated by Samuel Michaëlsson and Klaus Buchholz in Gothenburg, Sweden, Wesley Taylor in Detroit, US, Michael Demps in Rhode Island, US, and Yosuke Tsuga in Tokyo, Japan.
