The event brought together two longtime friends from Detroit’s ever-evolving music scene: Michael Demps, a.k.a. IX Lives, and Wesley Taylor, a.k.a. Scale Hands.

Active since the early 1990s, both artists have developed practices spanning experimental hip-hop, sound installation, performance, and other forms of sonic experimentation. Their set at Kino moved between broken beats, soulful abstractions, and deep cuts, creating a multilayered and immersive soundscape.

They were joined on the decks by The Sample Lesson and Disko Kaputt, extending the exchange between Detroit and Gothenburg through an evening of experimental sounds and rhythms.
