On Sunday, February 11, 2024 – the same weekend as Sound Bridge Vol. 2 – collaborator Wesley Taylor joined as a guest on Klaus Buchholz's radio show and podcast, Disko Kaputt.
Since 2014, the Gothenburg-based format has grown out of conversations with local and international guests about their creative practices, influences, and musical sources of inspiration. The show is always accompanied by curated selections of unconventional records across various genres of kaputt sounds, ready to dissolve DJ sets and dancefloors alike.
They talked about Wes's path as a printmaker, designer, musician, animator, educator, and curator. The conversation also shed light on his background as a hip hop multiplicator and a founding member of Athletic Mic League and Complex Movements, as well as his work within Talking Dolls Detroit, a collective-run creative community space and printshop.
Being a challenger and interconnecter of genres, disciplines, and sciences himself, Wes was interviewed on his multifaceted practice: his roots in Detroit's music and arts heritage, and his ongoing work in social justice and design.
